The Nuclear Option to Unf*ck Your Life (So Effective, It’ll Piss You Off)

The Nuclear Option (n): the most drastic or extreme response possible to a particular situation.

Maybe, just maybe... the time has come for you to go nuclear.

Since you clicked on this article, there’s probably some area of your life where you feel stuck. There’s some aspect of your life that you believe needs to be improved, and it’s probably significant enough that you’re here investing time into learning how to do so.

You’ve probably read a bunch of self-help books, you’ve watched a million YouTube videos, but although everything you try helps in some ways, nothing seems to produce that tangible change that you need.

We live in an age where pre-packaged off-the-shelf solutions are the norm, and while sometimes these solutions may work quite well, there are other times when the only solution to your problem is an individualized approach that’s specifically tailored to your needs.

So if you are someone who has tried everything under the sun to alter the course of your life but you can’t seem to achieve that massive breakthrough, then keep reading because in this article I’m going to propose an alternative that might be the thing that will finally change everything for you.

This is the nuclear option because it does require a significant investment on your part, which means it’s only suitable for the really big problems that are causing major disruptions to your life.

But if you do exercise this option then I feel very confident that you will for sure have a proven strategy for navigating your way out of what feels like a completely unfixable life circumstance.

And when I give you this strategy, it’s probably going to piss you off a little bit because it’s so obvious and so effective, yet I don’t recall ever hearing this specific advice given before.

Whether you’ve dug yourself into massive debt, or you’ve let yourself slip into being dangerously out-of-shape, or you’ve pigeonholed yourself into a career that robs you of both your soul and your dignity, with few exceptions, most of your greatest life problems stem from three root causes:

  1. Unintentional living

  2. Dopamine mismanagement

  3. Lacking systems of accountability

I’ll turn to the Cerebrum-X Accelerator to offer me brief explanations of each.

First up is unintentional living which is:

A mode of existence where individuals make choices and form habits passively, without deliberate reflection, intentional goals, or alignment with personal values.

It is a core source of most problems because it disconnects people from purpose, causing them to pursue paths that lead to stress, regret, and a lack of true fulfillment.

So all of us to some degree or another subscribe to rules of whatever system we operate within, and oftentimes those rules lead us astray. We navigate through life with no clear purpose, or even worse we let society define our purpose for us.

And doing so oftentimes leads to existential crises such as being stuck in jobs, relationships, or financial troubles that we cannot escape.

Next up is dopamine mismanagement which is:

The chronic overstimulation or suppression of the brain's reward system through unnatural, excessive, or poorly timed stimuli, leading to distorted motivation, reduced sensitivity, and impaired decision-making.

It is a core source of most problems because it trains the brain to seek short-term pleasure over long-term meaning, undermining focus, discipline, and the ability to experience lasting fulfillment.

If you have any terribly self-destructive habits then it is likely a result of a subconscious reward system that drives you to pursue things even though you know that they’re not good for you.

What’s even worse is that this also comes with an equal and opposite effect in that your motivation and your ability to focus your life energy on building constructive habits is significantly diminished.

So if you ever feel like you lack discipline, like you’re excessively lazy, or like your mind is scattered then its likely the result of dopamine mismanagement, which is directly tied to the instant gratification culture of modern society.

The final root cause of many life problems is a lack of systems of accountability which is:

The failure to establish clear structures, habits, or support mechanisms that track actions, enforce commitments, and ensure follow-through on meaningful goals.

It is a core source of most problems because without consistent checks and consequences, people drift, procrastinate, and repeat the same mistakes without ever making real progress.

It’s not unusual for people to know exactly what they need to do, but because they don’t make an investment in accountability mechanisms, they don’t actually do what they’re supposed to.  They don’t stick to the plan, they don’t execute it fully, and they don’t set the bar high enough for themselves to affect real and lasting change.

So fixing your life, once and for all, requires a method that will address each of these three primary root causes.

I speak from personal experience when I say that the standard assortment of self-help resources can be very useful.  In fact, in most cases the right self-help information can be quite transformational. That certainly has been the case for me.

But in my 3 years of writing essays on how to overcome various struggles that are common in the modern world, I’ve come to realize that the practice of teaching, and of laying out logical and structured explanations on how to solve those problems has had a far greater impact on my own self-development than any of the traditional forms of self-help.

In a lot of cases, I’m passing along ideas and concepts that I’ve either just learned or am in the process of learning, so I don’t claim to be an expert on all of the topics I discuss, but I do notice that the more I invest into sharing my understanding, the more I seem to naturally embody these concepts.

For example, a few weeks ago I published an article explaining a process for using A.I. to rewire the brain and kill bad habits, and an unintentional consequence of me writing that article is that I developed a deep and genuine disdain for a few bad habits that have honestly been holding me back from being my highest and best self.

Writing that article quite literally changed my life.

I think this has a lot to do with the idea that when you step into the role of the teacher, you force yourself to shift from being a passive consumer of information and ideas, to being an active producer.

And when the brain is in an active state of creation, it is more focused, it develops a healthy relationship with dopamine and other neurotransmitters, and enters a state of flow.

In other words, active creation alters the brain’s subconscious programming to align one’s thoughts and actions with whatever concepts are specific to that particular creation process.

"People under-estimate the benefits of creation and over-estimate the benefits of consumption. Create more. Consume less." - David Perell

So in circumstances where you feel like you’ve exhausted all options to change something in your life but you can’t seem to achieve that breakthrough, your best bet might be to shift from a passive consumption mindset and into an active creation mindset.

On that thought, it’s pretty crazy to know that so many people, as Thoreau so eloquently put it, are living lives of quiet desperation despite being this one simple mindset shift away from living their highest and best life.

So how do you actually shift from the passive consumption mindset to the active creation mindset?  What does that tangibly look like when put into practice?

It means literally switching from being a consumer to being a producer.

In the simplest of terms, it means you will create an actual product for yourself and anyone else who may also be struggling with the same problem.

Do this by creating an imaginary person who has your exact same problem and is in the same place in life as you are… you’ll call this imaginary person your avatar.

Then you are going to build an actual product which can be distributed digitally for your avatar.  You’re then going to test out your product and refine it before finally distributing it to other people who stand to benefit from it.

I want to be clear that the point is not to make money, or to become a business owner, or anything like that.  The end product is not the goal. The goal is to leverage the creation process to your benefit.

The point is to become a creator of solutions rather than a consumer of solutions.

In the process of creating, testing, and iterating, you will engage with whatever your big life problem is on a level that simply cannot be matched when you’re in a state of passively consuming traditional self-help advice.

You have to dig so much deeper. You have to spend much more time structuring your thoughts. You have to actually make sure that you’re finding practical and feasible solutions that are rooted in reality rather than theory.

This is how you fix your life when you’ve reached a point where nothing else works.

On that note, instead of spinning in circles trying to figure out how to actually build a product, it’s best to use artificial intelligence to assist you in forming the basis of your product so that you can focus more on the creative process, which is where most of the benefit will be realized.

With that said, let’s review a simple process that you can follow.

You’ll start off by firstly identifying the problem that needs to be solved

If you recall, one of the three core sources of major problems in life is a lack of purpose. In fact, some estimates suggest that upwards of 75% of adults in the U.S. have no clear sense of purpose or direction. So by identifying your problem, and committing yourself to a process of solving that problem, you are also clarifying your purpose.

You’re establishing a sense of direction for yourself so that you can channel your life energy towards overcoming the problem.

Remember, your problem must be significant enough that it is truly causing a lot of pain in your life.  It can’t be a minor issue, because if you don’t care enough about it then you won’t have the discipline or motivation to fully apply yourself in the creation process.

I personally think it’s best to use A.I. to either validate what you already believe your big problem to be, or to propose alternative suggestions that may have never crossed your mind before.

You can use a prompt in Cerebrum-X to cue up a series of journaling questions to be completed over the course of days or in one sitting, and once the final question is answered it’ll present you with three suggested BIG problems that it has identified based on your journaling.

For this example, I’m simulating journal entries for someone who wants to finally get out of crippling debt.  As you can see, the output suggests 3 main problems and then asks you to select the one that you believe is most appropriate.

Once you do this, you have your problem defined in writing. You can obviously alter or adjust this as you see fit. I always try to make it clear that A.I. is merely a tool and you must pair it with your own discernment.

But once you feel that you are clear on the problem, next you’re going to…

Decide on the product which is most appropriate for solving your specific problem

There are plenty of different product categories that you can go with, but I think it’s best to go with something that you know will resonate with your avatar.

With the right prompt, you can instruct A.I. to come up with product recommendations not only based on the specific problem that you want to solve, but also based on the objective of altering your own subconscious mind through the creation process.

As you can see, this outputs 20 different product ideas along with a short list of 5 suggested products. This also gives you the pros and cons for each product idea on your shortlist as well as a rationale for how the creation process for each will trigger a reprogramming of your subconscious mind.

Remember, the goal is for you to gain extreme clarity, to build out a structured approach and ultimately to transform your default mode of operation such that this creation process leads to tangible change in your life.

Everything up to this point entails defining your purpose and building clarity around the problem that you are going to solve, but now that you’ve done this, you’re ready to officially make the shift into active creation mode where you’ll reprogram your subconscious mind.

So at this point you can then follow up by letting the A.I. know which product type that you want to move forward with.

Once it acknowledges your preference, you’re ready to move on to the next step which is to…

Create the product, test it out, and iterate.

Going back to the primary source of life’s biggest problems, the 2nd thing mentioned on that list is dopamine mismanagement which has everything to do with succumbing to instant gratifications that are misaligned with your purpose.

It’s in the creation process where you will naturally address this issue.

To build a good product that’s going to help people like yourself turn their life around once and for all, you must enter into a state of deep focus.  It is a cognitively demanding task to do all of research, to investigate different solutions, and to piece it all together in a logical format that other people can follow.

Applying yourself and focusing your energy in this way will help with resetting the dopamine reward system.  Reprogramming your reward system leads to altered habits.  And altered habits leads to a fundamentally changed life.

So if you alter your habits to stop doing what has gotten you into your current life predicament, and to start doing what is necessary to get you out of it, then the results will follow.

The formula is simple, but the hard part is actually in rewiring the subconscious programming.  That is the point of real true and lasting change.

And building your product is going to help you do that.

For your third prompt, you can cue Cerebrum-X to provide you with three different outlines for your preferred product choice.

You can see here that each outline will have a slightly different flare to it, and you can read through each one to find the style that you like the most.

Then you can follow up with a response to let A.I. know which one you prefer and have it provide you with a more detailed blueprint that you can use to build out your product.

Now that you have your idea structured, you should give yourself between two and four weeks to fully build out a product. Make sure you also create a schedule with dedicated blocks of time for focused work using your preferred scheduling tool.

Much of it depends on the specifics of your lifestyle, but I find it’s best to reserve a minimum of one 90-minute block of time every day dedicated to building out your product. This is the bare minimum, so if you can dedicate two or even three 90-minute blocks of time throughout the day then you’ll be able to dive even deeper into the subject matter, and make a much larger investment into finding a solution that’ll have the power to change the lives of anybody who uses it, including your own.

So you’ll use the chosen outline to create a minimum viable product.

It doesn’t need to be perfect, but it does need to be complete, and once complete you will become your first customer by actually using the product that you’ve created.

This way you are both the teacher and the student.

You’re leveraging the power of deep and focused thought in the creation process, and then as you use your own product you’re actively taking the necessary steps that you have diligently formatted into a protocol that was custom-built for your specific problem.

But there’s more.  As you use your product, you will take note of what you believe works best, and what needs to be improved, and then once you finish testing it out in its entirety, you should go back to create a second iteration with necessary improvements and modifications.

I realize it might not sound like it, but all of these things are going to be altering your mind at the subconscious level which will ultimately help you to unf*ck your life  in a way that every other self-help resources that you’ve used could never do.

What’s more is that in the creation process, you have addressed two out of the three root causes for deep life problems, lack of purpose and dopamine mismanagement, and the last piece is to tackle the third root cause which is lack of accountability systems.

And to do this you’ll need to…

Make your product publicly available

You’re actually going to begin this step while you’re also creating the product.  So once you have your product development timeline established, you should also move forward with finding the first users of your product.

Since the goal is not to necessarily sell or profit financially from this exercise, there’s no need to overcomplicate this step.  You’re just going to use channels that are already available to you to find “customers” and to distribute your finished product.

If you have social media, you make a post saying that you’re happy to announce that you’ve been working on a project to help people with the same problem you’ve been trying to solve for yourself. Then mention that you are doing some market research to put the final touches on it, and if anyone is interested then have them either leave a comment under that post or to send you a message.

If you don’t have social media, then reach out to 2 or 3 trusted friends and let them know the same, that you’re working on something and that you’d like to shoot it over to them when it’s done.

Whether it’s people who’ve responded to your post, or its friends that you’ve reached out to, create a calendar event for the product launch date, include them in it, and tell them that you’re going to send it to them on that date.

The goal isn’t to sell and make money (although that can possibly be an added benefit if you want to take it there), but the real point is that if you know you’re going to put something out there for the public to see, then that should serve as an accountability mechanism.

It should help with ensuring that you put real effort into it and that you don’t slack off in terms of timelines.  You have “customers” counting on you to deliver something that will help them, and you also have a deadline that you have to hit now.

So you can enter a prompt asking A.I. to create a few different scripts for various communication channels, just like I’ve done here.

The output is 5 different scripts that you can tap into to craft your message, and eventually lock in a small handful of people that you’ll deliver your product to.

I realize that this is an unconventional approach that requires a lot of effort. But the fact is that sometimes, your greatest problems in life are not going to be solved by low-investment cookie cutter solutions.  Rather they are going to need at least 2-3 months of focused effort dedicated to solving that one big problem that has been making life less than ideal for you.

Sometimes you have to go with the nuclear option.

This is how you unf*ck your life.

One thing I’ve tried to refrain from talking about is that as a bonus an unintended side effect of going through this process is that you’ll build marketable skills and potentially even be able to monetize your creation if that’s something that you wish to do.

But before you do that, make sure you focus on solving your own problem first.

Lastly, the Cerebrum-X tool that I’ve demonstrated in this article is available for those who are interested. It is a customized GPT that I’ve created to guide me in my own self-help work. I’ve fed three years of essays just like this into it so that it provides highly customized responses based on the philosophies that talk about in these articles.

UNLEASHING SAVAGE is for those who wish to live more intentionally for greater health, quality of life, and fulfillment.

Navigating the modern societal blueprint can make it easy to become disconnected from nature. This is evidenced by rising instances of chronic disease and struggles with mental health, along with lack of a clear sense of purpose.

I created this movement to help busy corporate professionals and entrepreneurs slow down, reconnect with nature, and live in greater alignment with what matters most to them.
